Hypnosis FAQ

What does hypnosis feel like?

Although hypnosis is derived from the Greek word for sleep, hypnosis is not sleep. It is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. Hypnosis is like daydreaming or relaxing in your best-loved, comfortable chair after a hectic day.

Is Hypnosis Safe?

Yes, hypnosis is absolutely safe. It’s gentle and natural to be in a hypnotic trance—it happens every day when we become absorbed in activities like driving, reading, or watching TV. No one can leave a suggestion that the person in hypnosis disagrees with. You’re an integral part of the experience—it’s not being “done to you.” Hypnosis is a collaborative venture between you and me to make lasting behavior changes allowing more freedom, happiness, and fulfillment into your heart and daily life.

Why Choose Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is so effective because it addresses you as a whole person - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. During a hypnotherapy session, I work to help you make permanent changes —it’s active, dynamic, and relaxing. Finding the right type of therapy and therapist for you is essential. As you consider your options, you may want to review the 2007 Comparative Study conducted by American Health Magazine that demonstrated that hypnotherapy yielded a 93% recovery rate after 6 sessions, Behavioral Therapy produced a 72% recovery rate after 22 sessions, and Psychoanalysis (Talk Therapy) caused a 38% recovery rate after 600 sessions.

Who Does Hypnosis Help?

Hypnosis can benefit anyone. Even the most skeptical individual can experience the rewarding relaxation of the hypnotic trance-like state. Everyone has a subconscious mind, which responds to imagery and positive suggestions— that’s how the brain works. Personally, I find my most tremendous success is with people who are interested in the following:

  • Eliminating stress, anxiety, fear, and negative habits such as smoking, vaping, overeating, nail-biting, etc.

  • Increasing self-confidence, job or athletic performance, self-esteem, and motivation

  • Addressing weight loss or weight management

  • Pursuing creative endeavors such as writing, painting, or photography

  • Managing troubled relationships or seeking romantic relationships

  • Reconstructing their lives or starting anew

  • Moving through loss or grief

Is there anyone who can’t benefit from hypnosis?

Yes! A person who is not ready to change cannot be helped by hypnosis. I can’t make your subconscious do anything you don’t already want to do. Anyone willing to try hypnosis can and will reap its incredible benefits, no matter how nervous or skeptical. Anyone ready for change and prepared to make changes, even if they can’t yet see what those changes will be—will see enormous success!
